A working week at TOPdesk is between 32 and 40 hours. Who decides the hours? You have control of the hours of your working week and can make adjustments whenever you want. This ensures that you can maintain a good work-life balance. Are you an early bird or do you prefer to sleep in? Your day starts between 8:00 and 9:30 a.m.
Eight hours later, you close your laptop – because at TOPdesk we don’t believe in overtime! Sometimes, however, you might have to meet a deadline and need to work just that little bit longer. Will you be punished for this? No, of course not! But it’s customary to compensate for these hours the next day by coming in to the office later or leaving earlier.
When you start working at TOPdesk, you’ll be assigned a personal “talent lead”. A “talent lead”? Yep. Your talent lead acts a sounding board with whom you can discuss your career path and opportunities for growth at TOPdesk. An internal coach who checks in with you every week to see how you’re doing, who sets personal goals with you and supports you in your professional development. You have the freedom to map out your own path and grow at TOPdesk.
Do you need training, books, events or courses to help you on your journey? No problem. We offer financial support as well as coaching. Every year, you can use a budget of 10% of your full-time gross annual salary on personal development. You may also spend 10% of your contract hours on carrying out and taking up these trainings. Together with your talent lead, you will look for the perfect education that connects your personal ambitions and talents to TOPdesk’s mission. Win-win!
Besides 10 to Grow, we also have a Vitality Budget: €50 each month to spend on things that contribute to your mental or physical health. It is widely applicable: from a gym subscription to a sleep coach or yoga classes.
Would you like to travel to a far distant country? TOPdesk offers you the opportunity to take up extra days off!
Public holidays and extra holiday leave
We want you to celebrate the days that are meaningful to you! That’s why we no longer stick to the generally applicable official Dutch public holidays. Rather enjoy Loi Krathong, Pride and your birthday than Christmas and Easter? It’s your choice! On a yearly basis, you have 8 days and it’s up to you to choose which day you want to celebrate for cultural, religious or personal reasons.
Would you like to travel to a far-distant country? In addition to the 8 public holidays and the standard 26 days of holiday leave you’re entitled to based on a 40-hour contract, TOPdesk also offers you the opportunity to save up extra days off. How? You can adjust your contract to 90%, for example. On paper, you’ll then have a 36-hour week. If you continue to work a 40-hour week, with each passing week you accumulate four hours to be added to your days of holiday leave.
Freedom and a sunny rooftop terrace
No stuffy cubicles, but an open workplace instead! Have you seen TOPdesk’s office yet? We’re super proud of it. You can already find dozens of candid photos of our office on Instagram and we’ve also posted a short video of it. Our office is not just a place to work. We also have a Mario Kart room, pool table, football tables, massage room, library and a piano for musical diversion. Overwhelmed by all the hustle and bustle around you? Then take a break in one of our quiet rooms.
Every day, our lovely lunch ladies prepare a fresh lunch for us. They’re always happy to have a chat and even take requests for dishes! Soups, salads, sandwiches, grilled vegetables and pastas – anything goes! Tropical heat? Then head for our beautiful roof terrace. Pick up some fruit on the way because vitamins are important too.
