Your career at TOPdesk

Now that we got all the different groups and roles out of the way, we’re finally ready for you! Starting a new job is obviously super exciting and we’re very happy to have you. Want to take a look into the future? Your career starts here!

Appraissal meetings

Throughout the year, you and your talent lead will focus on the following pillars to help you develop. These pillars will be discussed in detail during your BG: 

Basic
The first pillar is about the foundation of a person’s functioning. Think of questions such as: do we understand what is expected of each other? Am I doing my job properly or are there major criticisms? Am I a great colleague and how much effort do I show? Is my self-image correct, and how good am I actually within the basis of my job? 

Personal Development
The second pillar focuses on the change that can be seen within the functioning. This is not necessarily about training or reading books, but really about the essential question: to what extent has functioning improved compared to the previous year(s)? In other words, are you doing the same trick? Or have you learned new things and do you have a different approach to your current job? Training and books can of course help with this, but are not immediately something that this is all about. 

Impact
The last pillar is the perspective in which the results of your performance are presented as honestly as possible. Think of questions such as: how much impact have you made? How big has your leverage been? To what extent have you made a difference and contributed to the growth goals of our company? Matters such as intentions and commitment are of secondary importance. These aspects are highlighted in the other pillars.

Would you like to join a course outside of TOPdesk? You get a personal training budget of € 600,- each year to spend on training and professional development.

Personal training budget

At TOPdesk there are a lot of specialist that have developed trainings you can follow internally, regardless of your role. Like, Identity & Rol-trainings (about who you are in comparisson to your role as an employee), DISC-training (about your personality traits) and discovering your strengths (about, well, your strengths and how to use them). You can request these trainings through TOPtraining. When the training is organized, you will receive an invitation to join.

Also, there are a lot of trainings (internal only) for field specific roles. Do you start at sales? Get ready for sales trainings in your first week at the job like Pitch and SPIN. The same goes for development or support. Want to be a part of the selection team of recruitment? You will learn everything from our unique way of interviewing potential colleagues through STAR-trainings. These are just a few examples. Are you a specialist in a certain field and want to teach your colleagues all about it? You can develop and give a training yourself to help your co-workers get up and running.

But that’s not all. Would you like to join a course outside of TOPdesk? You get a personal training budget (internal only) of € 600,- (€ 50,- per month) each year to spend on training and professional development. What to spend it on? You can look into webinars, workshops, books and trainings offered by professionals.

TOPdesk Academy

Do you want to follow a more expensive and intensive course? No problem. At TOPdesk you can apply for the TOPdesk Academy. What is a TOPdesk Academy? It’s an additional budget that can be assigned to you if you have a specific and well-motivated request. Depending on the costs, you can get a loan for the duration of your studies. After a set date, this loan becomes a gift. The application needs to be addressed to your talent lead and HR. Together you will make up a small contract that will cover the legal part, costs and the duration. Want to know more about the TOPdesk Academy? Ask your talent lead all about it.
