The whole world has been working mostly from home for over a year now. Pretty unique and also very unique for TOPdesk. Before the pandemic, TOPdesk had a minimal working from home-policy, because we believe that connection is very important in your daily routines and work. But the year 2020 has brought some very important other realizations. Connecting with other branches, for example, became so much easier when working remotely. And that is just one realization! So, it’s time for a change. It’s time to look at the Future of Work. What does that future look like from now on?
The office will stay our home base, but more options are available. This means TOPdesk will make sure every colleague has the equipment they need at the office and at home. We expect you to come in every week, and we expect you can utilize your home workplace for a productive day of work.
Why this approach? We strongly believe one of TOPdesk’s biggest strengths is our company culture. Being a part of the office is an important part of that culture. It’s how new colleagues get to know the three V’s, it’s how existing colleagues can connect with each other (also informally), and the office is the place where new initiatives develop more easily.
With the guidelines below you get our trust to use the freedom and responsibility for creating a workweek that works well for yourself, your team, and TOPdesk.
After all restrictions have been lifted, you’re welcome every day. We advise you to come in at least 50% of your TOPdesk time. Your Talent Lead is the ideal person to discuss a working rhythm with, and how this rhythm works well with your daily team.
As we’ve said before: we advise you to work from home less than 50% of your TOPdesk time. Discuss your desired balance with your Talent Lead. It’s important to know that being able to work from home is not something that is permanently set in stone. TOPdesk can re-evaluate this decision in the future.
We can’t introduce the Future of Work immediately, not until (almost) all restrictions are gone, and the Dutch government retracts the advice to work from home as much as you can. Why share this now? We’ve noticed everyone is curious about the upcoming changes, and it enables you to already discuss things with your Talent Lead, daily team, and Team Coordinator. Everyone at Staff hopes we can actually introduce the new standard as soon as possible!
