How do we work?

And how does that typical culture come into play when we work? Let’s give you insight into our company structure.

Back to overview

Eight countries, five domains

TOPdesk is an international company with around 1,000 employees in eight countries: The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, the UK, Denmark, USA and Brazil. We are organized into five global domains to ensure focused and efficient leadership, streamline decision-making, and foster specialized expertise within each area. These five domains are called operations, finance, revenue, customer and product & technology. Each is led by a member of the executive leadership team (ELT).

Each domain is further divided into a number of sub-domains, each of which is overseen by a vice president (VP) and contains different teams. For example: in the operations domain, you’ll find the HR subdomain consisting of international teams like recruitment, HR and learning & development. Or in the customer domain, we’ll find the support subdomains and different teams of support heroes.

Business units, teams and guilds

At TOPdesk, we work in business units, teams and guilds. Each of those groups works towards a designated goal, the only difference is the composition of the groups. So, what are the differences?

As you can imagine, not all customers have the same needs and wants, which is why we have business units. These are multi-disciplinary teams comprising account managers, consultants, business development managers and customer success managers who work together to deliver excellent service to specific customer groups. Think education, healthcare or local governments, for example. By gaining a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses and objectives, we strive to become trusted advisors, helping guide them toward success.

Naturally, it’s the efforts of many teams that keep TOPdesk in motion. The recruitment subdomain, for example, brings together colleagues from eight countries who are involved in attracting new talent and establishing our employer brand. Recruitment teams ensure that all vacancies are written, advertised and filled. They also organize events to promote TOPdesk on the job market.

At the same time, some individual recruitment team members are part of a guild: an international group working on company-wide agreements concerning the recruitment process, streamlining cooperation, and developing long-term strategies.

Together with your manager you will look back at what you have accomplished and into the future towards the goals you’re working on.

Your manager

On your first day you’ll meet a lot of new people. Some familiar faces from recruitment and some new faces from your domain and your team. And of course, your manager. Not only does this person lead your team, it’s also their goal to help you on an individual level. They’ll help you find your strengths and how to use them. Your manager is the one to go to with your career plans, ambitions and goals. They will help you achieve those, align them with the company goals and question them. They’ll encourage you to keep your eyes on the prize, that’s for sure!

Your manager is also the one that will do your appraisal every six months. Together you will look back at what you have accomplished and into the future towards the goals you’re working on.
