The start of jour growth journey

Your first year at TOPdesk is all about discovering, learning, and growing. To help you get off to a great start, we’ve created a unified onboarding program that supports you throughout your first months and sets the tone for your future development.

This international program combines online and in-person sessions, all designed to help you get to know TOPdesk, our organization, culture and the market we’re in. It also supports your growth as a person and a professional and helps you connect with fellow TOPdeskers in fun and meaningful ways.

Three times a year, we bring together all new starters from the previous four months for this shared onboarding experience. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet your peers, exchange stories, and start building your TOPdesk network.

Appraisal meetings

During your appraisal meeting, we talk about your performance and growth. These two pillars support your professional development and form the foundation of your appraisal.

Performance:
This pillar focuses on whether you delivered what is expected in your role and how well you did so. During your appraisal, you look back on the goals you set, whether you met the expectations of your role, and the quality and impact of your work. You reflect on the contribution you made to your team and to TOPdesk as a whole: did you do what you were expected to do, and did you do it well?

In addition, this pillar looks at how you achieved your results. Did you live our values, help your team succeed, and push things forward or create positive change? This is where it all comes together.

Growth:
This pillar evaluates your learning, development, and contributions beyond your day-to-day responsibilities. During your appraisal, you’ll reflect on the challenges you faced and what they taught you, the skills you developed, and how this help you thrive in your current or future role. Did you overcome challenges and learn from them? Did you develop new skills, and do they support your growth in your current or future role? Did you help others grow by sharing knowledge, driving improvements, or supporting change within your team or across the organization?

After your appraisal, the outcome will be one of four levels: below expectations, partially meets expectations, meets expectations, or exceeds expectations. This rating determines your potential salary increase of: €0, €150, €225, or €300.*

Throughout the year, you and your manager will regularly check in on two axes that support your development.

*The exact amounts may differ slightly for Manager and Supportive roles.

You can use 10% of your full-time gross annual salary for training, webinars, seminars, e-learning, conferences, magazines, courses, books etc.

Personal Development: 10 to Grow

Regarding your personal development, we have a budget called 10 to Grow.

What does that look like in concrete terms?
You can spend 10% of your contract hours and 10% of your full-time gross annual salary for training, webinars, seminars, e-learning, conferences, magazines, courses, books etc. For this fringe benefit we take in account your full-time monthly salary and your vacation pay to calculate your full-time gross annual salary (so we exclude sales bonus and profit share, because these are variable).
