Product & Technology at TOPdesk
Over the past year, we have taken significant steps within the Product & Technology domain at TOPdesk. Where the focus previously lay on change and restructuring, it has now shifted increasingly toward focus and creating space to build a better product for our customers and colleagues.
A solid foundation
Within Product & Technology, we have made clear progress in continuously improving the way we work. Teams are now more clearly positioned within the domain, such as AI, DevEx, and Knowledge Base. Responsibilities are more sharply defined, and points of contact are easier to identify. This has brought greater calm and clarity to our daily work.
That clarity makes it easier to collaborate across teams, countries, and disciplines. Decision-making has become more transparent, and conversations more often revolve around impact: how do we contribute to the product, to our customers, and to TOPdesk’s broader business goals?
User experience
One of the main priorities over the past period has been modernizing the TOPdesk user experience and tangible progress has been made.
An increasing number of product components have been redesigned with the end user as the starting point. The focus is on simplicity, consistency, and ease of use. By carefully listening to signals from the market and working closely with colleagues from Sales, Support, and other domains, we are addressing concrete bottlenecks that customers encounter in their daily work.
These improvements not only make the product more intuitive and enjoyable to use, but also strengthen TOPdesk’s position in the market. Obstacles in demos and sales processes are reduced, directly supporting the success of our commercial teams.
This way of working enables us to respond more quickly to changing customer needs. We are building a product that remains relevant today and tomorrow.
Further developing our architecture
Alongside visible improvements on the front end, substantial work has been done behind the scenes over the past year. TOPdesk software has a long history, and that is precisely why continuous modernization is essential.
Within Product & Technology, we are step by step renewing our software architecture. Legacy technologies are being replaced, and modern solutions are being introduced to create a future-proof, scalable, and maintainable product. These technical improvements form the foundation for further innovation and closely align with the advancements in user experience.
Growth of people and teams
Important steps have also been taken in leadership and personal development. Engineering Managers are now closer to their teams and have better insight into the challenges people face in their work, as well as their growth ambitions. This makes conversations about development, career paths, and the effective use of the 10 to Grow training budget more meaningful.
From our leaders, we expect a strong understanding of the domain, a clear focus on strategic objectives, and the ability to help their teams see how their work contributes to TOPdesk’s broader goals. In this way, we strengthen the connection between day-to-day activities and the long-term vision of the company.
Looking ahead
With a solid foundation in place, visible product improvements underway, and teams that know where they stand, Product & Technology can now fully focus on further innovation.
Our focus remains on continuous improvement, continuous learning, and continuous building ensuring that our product grows alongside TOPdesk’s ambitions and the evolving needs of our customers.
