Taking the performance of our TOPdesk software to the highest level: that’s your ultimate goal! At TOPdesk, we’re in the middle of transitioning from monolithic architecture to microservices. Our top priority is creating a scalable and sustainable product for our more than 10 million users at 5000 customers worldwide, and substantially increasing these numbers. So, we’re facing interesting challenges regarding performance and scalability. As Senior Software Developer, you’ll use your expertise and initiative to tackle this complex job head on!

Together with your performance team colleagues, you analyse data to understand the product performance. This means you can identify frequently recurring and structural problems in the software and you suggest solutions and improvement projects. Your work supports the 200 or more TOPdesk developers creating scalable functionality. This challenging job goes hand in hand with high expectations and considerable impact on the whole department. And so on the whole organization too.

You suggest improvements by establishing infrastructure and tooling to take the performance of our software to a higher level. For example, you teach our Customer Care staff how they can identify and solve customer problems more quickly. And you provide vast volumes of data for colleague developers so they can improve our software every day.

In our brand-new software performance team, Team Hermes! We’ve established this team specially to solve complex problems and so to realize TOPdesk’s ambition of considerably expanding our user base. TOPdesk is an international company and has approximately fifteen agile development teams in the Netherlands, Germany and Hungary. Team Hermes is just one of the many Development Teams at our head office in Delft, the Netherlands.

• As a technical performance developer, you’re familiar with solving performance issues. Perhaps you’ve already worked in a similar role for a software company, in-house or as a freelancer.
• You have very strong analytical skills.
• You have considerable Java experience.
• You’re an experienced data analyst and you’re good at identifying patterns in data.
• Infrastructure and the back end of systems intrigue you.
• Even better if you’re familiar with knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker and Microservices.
