We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer for our User Guidance team. User Guidance is essential in getting our product and its new features known and understood by our customers. Our dream: make our customers self-sufficient and empower them to be able to find answers to their questions themselves, without having to rely too much on Support or Consultancy.

TOPdesk is dedicated to ensuring a good experience for all our users. The world of service has been moving towards self-service, and we strongly believe that users should be empowered to solve most of their problems. This starts with good documentation and sharing knowledge with our users, and this is where you and User Guidance can make a difference.

What can you expect?

As a Technical Writer, you use your experience, writing skills and customer focus to inform our customers, of all levels of experience, about how they can get the most out of TOPdesk. Besides our product documentation, this includes writing engaging release notes, brief product updates, and managing the resource labels of TOPdesk.

You will work together with various roles within the company. Together with product owners at Development, you get to the essence of a new feature and what value it brings to customers. Next, you might discuss with a developer or UX designer how a new button in TOPdesk is best described, and you share your ideas on how an information box could be more informative.

And last but not least, together with the rest of the User Guidance team you discover ways to improve how we should deliver information to our users, and what kind of information this should really be. Whether your interest goes out to doing customer research or changing the structure of our documentation – you and the rest of the team will find a way to utilize these ideas and will decide on the information strategy.

We are looking for you if you have...

  • 3-5 years of experience in writing technical content
  • experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver quality documentation
  • experience working in an agile environment
  • proficiency in English
  • strong writing and editing skills
  • ability to transform information received from software engineers into clear and concise documentation
  • some experience with the tools Paligo, Crowdin and Jira, or similar alternatives

TOPdesk is an international Software and Consultancy company for Service Management processes. TOPdesk Magyarország Kft. is located in a modern, cozy office in the heart of Budapest, next to Fővám tér. With our hybrid way of working, every colleague can find the fitting rythm for themselves.
