Illness and doctor visits

Illness/incapacity to work

If you are not feeling well and therefore cannot work, please always inform your supervisor and HR ([email protected]) directly by e-mail, even if it is only for one day. When notifying your sick leave, please also state the expected duration of your absence. Also remember that it is important for your colleagues to know whether they can count on you and, in addition, customers or other external parties may need to be informed in good time that an appointment cannot take place.

A medical certificate is required if you are sick for more than three days.

If you fall ill during your vacation, please also notify HR and your supervisor. By means of a medical certificate, your vacation days can then be counted as sick days.

The following applies to our students:

In the event of incapacity for work, please report directly by e-mail to your Team Lead and HR ([email protected]). A medical certificate is required from the first day.

A doctor's certificate is required if you are sick for more than three days.

Scheduled doctor’s appointments that cannot take place outside normal working hours.

There are treatments that can only take place at certain times (e.g. blood sampling on an empty stomach).
If such a treatment falls within your usual working hours, TOPdesk may give you paid time off for this time (including round trip travel) under certain conditions.

Other scheduled medical appointments without a certificate of incapacity for work

Other scheduled medical appointments for which no certificate of incapacity for work is issued by the doctor (e.g. preventive medical check-ups) should be scheduled outside normal working hours if possible.
If such an appointment takes place during working hours and did not necessarily have to take place during them, the time spent at the doctor’s appointment cannot be claimed in LIFT (even if a simple certificate of attendance is submitted).
